We have been tasked with installing more electrical outlets in the fixed seating areas, to make those rooms more flexible for BYOD or for computer programming classes ( they want hardwired data as well.. the wifi in areas can be spotty).
The flexible seating has not been an issue as most of those rooms are more about class collaboration and discussions.
In Flexible labs, we have some areas with power outlets that retract into the ceiling space. ( safety chains on them of course so they dont fall on anyone if pulled too hard.)
New construction, in the floor are used in some areas, but the plates are sometimes an issue.
